About me

“I'm an interdisciplinary researcher working at the interface between social and environmental science, especially interested in research fields of vulnerability, resilience and adaptability of socio-ecological systems (SES) to global change. My investigations focus on methodological advances in integrated assessment and participatory action-research and learning processes to support environmental decision making. My empirical research has been mainly carried out in mountain and semi-arid socio-ecological systems around the world, from the Andes to Himalaya and, more recently, in Mediterranean areas. Specifically I'm interested in exploring the role of institutions, practices and knowledge in vulnerability and adaptation to global change in rural SES. Engaging with gender and feminist studies has been enriching my critical investigation on power dynamics and transformative adaptation in Glñobal Environmental Change research. Recently, my curiosity to look at such issues every day with fresh eyes, creativity and from multiple, and transdisciplinary perspectives in order to embrace complexity, brings me to explore arts and science dialogues and collaborations."
